A Lion's Gate oracle from Goddess Isis

with a trip down memory lane, on friendship, the lunar mysteries and higher guidance for an almighty week.

When I first moved to London to start my banking career—yes, the one that never happened—I lived with my Lebanese friend Maya. We met at business school where we became fast friends. Both seekers of truth with idealistic natures, we were more interested in the complexity of human existence than finance.

Despite our philosophical tendencies, we both felt the same pressure to succeed, responding to unspoken expectations from family and culture.

We were young and naive, completely unaware that we had signed up for a way of life that did not honor the feminine.

My first jolt of awakening came swiftly with the unexpected pregnancy. Maya was there in our tiny London flat when I stared at the pregnancy test in disbelief. She, along with two other close friends, would remain by my side through thick and thin.

After leaving the financial world, I spent many years in a liminal state, focused on healing and mothering. During this time, I felt isolated without friends or a supportive community.

I longed for sisterhood but struggled to find my people. I questioned whether something was wrong with me or if I had trouble making friends. With hindsight, I realised I simply needed time for inner work.

Our modern culture, rarely values or praise the importance of solitude to attend to our soul healing. Yet solitude is essential when unraveling our childhood conditioning and discovering our inner child’s wounds.

It allows for the process of soul retrieval- a shamanic term describing the return of part of ourselves we lost touch with during times of trauma.

What I realised is that this precious time of soul forging was preparing me to step into my soul purpose as a healer and Divine Feminine guide.

I was also getting ready to hold sacred spaces like REFUGE where we can find the support and the inspiration we need to liberate ourselves.

So, despite my need for inner time, some friendships like the one I had with Maya, endured over time. I believe that soul friends allow for our unraveling without expectations or judgments. This is for me one of the hallmarks of the Divine Feminine: the loving kindness, nurturing, acceptance. Being gifted the support that help us to have the courage to be more authentic and embodied.

Even though we may sometimes feel isolated, we do not walk the path alone. Earth angels, spirit guides, significant teachers, soul family are never too far away. However, there is a natural tide, whereby our support network shows up when we need and gives us space when we are to work it out by ourselves. This divine intelligence is driven by the need of the soul for its own growth rather than what we childishly demand from life, often with a lack of awareness that we have actually been bestowed so many divine blessings.

When the student is ready, the teacher appears

Sometimes a friend becomes the pathway by which our higher self reaches through to us, giving us the next nudge to reach for our dreams and work out our soul purpose. It happened in this exact way with Maya. At the time, I was married, she had moved back to Paris and had come to visit for the weekend. She had brought with her a book that she had been recommended to read but left it behind at my house.

The book was called Astrology for the Soul and was written by Jan Spiller. It was quite odd because Maya was not particularly interested by astrology. I did not read the book straight away. It stayed on my shelves for some time, until it eventually mysteriously fell from the shelf on my head.

The book became a doorway to activating my love for the ancient science of astrology. But more importantly, the author Jan Spiller would also become a significant guide and spiritual grandmother to me. Jan was one of the first wise women who would help me to understand myself better through the symbolic language of the stars. I treasured our time together, learning, and laughing a lot. Many gems were gathered but especially my initiation into the mysteries of the lunar cycle, an important aspect of sacred feminine wisdom.

Sacred Feminine wisdom and the Lunar Cycle

In ancient times and within the communities where the feminine was honoured, women would gather together at the time of the dark moon or new moon for emotional and spiritual work. It was then understood that healing yourself was key to maintaining balance and peace within the community. It is my sense that the inner work was part of the process of good earth stewardship.

Healing for oneself but also for all sentient beings.

Wise women held the vision for loving communities to thrive. This happened in HER time, and I don’t know when that was exactly. This inner knowing does not match the current HIS-tory books, those written possibly through distorted or conveniently forgetful lenses.

What I know however is that the current Dalai Lama prophesied that the world will be saved by western women. I can see this happening as ancient women, torch holders of sacred feminine wisdom and from many lineages, are now rising.

Receiving Higher Guidance

Well, a long share for this second post and yet I trust that we need to build the connection, so I felt guided to meander through old memories to tell you how and why I am now sharing with you the Oracle of Goddess Isis on this New Moon in Leo and Lion’s Gate special week.

Since Jan initiated me into the mysteries of the lunar cycle, I have religiously paused for each new moon, making it a time for ritual and renewal. I meditate and turn within to gather insights for myself and for the community that I am here to serve, either directly or indirectly. I trust and surrender. Once I have settled into sacred space, invoked, meditated and cleared my energy, I am ready to be an open channel for Higher Guidance.

Lion’s Gate 8-8 2024 (8) Portal

I pulled my Goddess Isis Oracle deck because Leo season is also connected to the Ancient Egyptians mysteries and the heliacal rise of Sirius. This particular time of the year is often referred within spiritual communities as the Lion’s Gate or the 8-8 portal, seen as a window of opportunity for inner growth, healing and reconnection to our purpose. Sirius, the brightest star in our night sky, comes into a special alignment with the earth and the belt of Orion during the summer months.

This cosmic event enlivens our hearts and helps us to access more refined Divine Feminine spiritual energy. We do not need to understand it or know about it to benefit from this downpour of spiritual energies however those who meditate consciously on Sirius, often will experience waves of divine love, bliss, and peace coming to them.

I speak of the Lion’s Gate as someone who has consciously journeyed through it for years and run my own Goddess Isis course during the Lion’s Gate for the last four years. The ancient Egyptian goddess of healing, magic, fertility and abundance, is deeply connected to Sirius. In fact, Sirius is also known as the Star of Isis.

The archetype and the myth of Goddess Isis are very relevant for our current modern world. We are so challenged by the growing darkness and evil that comes with war, abuse of power and raging inequalities. Isis, emanation of the Divine Mother, is similar to the Christian’s Mother Mary or to the Buddhist’s Green Tara however she has her own signature. Her Egyptian name is Auset or She of ten thousand names.

In the myth of Goddess Isis, she is able to overcome the darkness from her brother Set who kills her beloved Osiris. The special attributes of this Goddess energy is to never give up, to trust that love will wins and that all the challenges can be turned into wisdom. She is truly a badass Goddess and has definitely been a life line when I was down in the underworld.

When we let go, the Divine can move in
and fill in the space with something new

When a cycle ends, honour it,
releasing the grasp and grieving the end.
In the world of form everything changes…

if something did not work out for you
something better and more aligned will emerge

When we let go, we let love
Sit within the Great Mother’s womb
the fertile void
Soon an insight will arise
shifting perspective, opening up new possibilities

The harvest will be sweet for one who looks within.
